Athletics or rain?

Athletics on Wednesday in the sun,
And soon everything had started or begun.
We had to grunt,
And Shalom did a stunt.
While racing, I just could not run! Unfun!

All the days that have a lot of rain,
Always seem to give me pain.
I study about space,
Lee won a race.
Beleive me, I am NOT insane!

50 word adventure

Climbing up the hill, I dodged the poo. At the top, I had a view of Auckland’s 7 volcanoes. Bravely running down, I stopped in front of a sharp rock. After sliding down the hill, a lamb started chasing me until I jumped over the fence. “Could I carry on?”.

Alien snot

Have you ever seen aliens snot before? My year 4 & 5 class (Room 13) managed to. At first we had to come in groups of five.

If you’re interested of how to make some foul snot, this is what you do. Add 1 cup of cornflour, then add a little bit of water. Last, add some green food coloring and stir thoroughly.

As I was stirring the cornflour and water, the mixture started smelling like porridge. I bet my group would’ve eaten some if it WAS breakfast. Soon Miss King added the green food coloring and a little bit of water again.

Then when Shalom was stirring, our alien snot turned blue! "How could you be a magician!?" I shouted to Shalom.

Afterwards we had to do some writing. Most people moaned loudly.

Ice cold comets

Have you ever made ice cream comets? Room 13 made some. As we sat patiently, Miss King called up the groups. Outer space came up first.

This is how you make it. At first you scoop some chocolate ice cream in your hands, add some hundreds and thousands with crushed biscuits too. Then you roll it into a ball and add it on a cone and enjoy!

Next up was my group, Supernova. As Miss King put the scoop of ice cream in my hands I thought that I would get frostbite. When Whae janneil put the cone in my hand, I said “Aaaaaaahhhh.” in happiness.

As I slurped up my ice cream before it fell off, I felt different textures on my tongue. The ice cream cooled me down on this hot, spring day.

Once my entire ice cream was slurped away, I went to wash my hands. After my stomach stopped begging for more, I came back in the bay. Miss King then told me that some remains were around my mouth.

If you want to know what a comet is made from, here’s the answer to that question. Comets are made out of rocks, ice, and little dust particles. The tail forms when it comes into the inner solar system (that’s Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars) and the sun gravitational pull pulls it nearer and the radiation burns the nuclei inside, creating a tail. And there you go! Your comet information!

I was so happy and that was the same with everybody else. I don’t really know about Levi though.

Feeling nervous on the inside and exited on the outside, I got myself strapped into the seat. I was ready for launch into space.

“Countdown starting” said the instructor. I heard the word ‘ignition get ready fast’. I was horribly exited then.

The next 15 minuets were ear shattering. Breaking the sound barrier, I shook and shuddered all the time through the atmosphere. I was hearing a sonic boom for 5 minuets.

Suddenly everything went silent. I was now heading through this amazing place to the international space station.
