School's out!

On Thursday was the last day of the school year. Normally someone would be happy for the holidays, but to honest I kinda miss it. I've been with Mrs King, for 2 years in a row, and she's taught me so much. I was only in her class twice because it was a year 4&5 class, and not because I flunked a year. And next year I have no more chance of being in her class.
It was a very cool two years, and now it ends.

Anyway the first day of my holidays got to a pretty good start.....
Until we played a game of dodgeball. Yeah, I got thrown in the head by my sister, and my cousins stood there looking at me. And the funny thing is, I was the one who got out. I guess that's what happens if you play with no referee. Afterwards we played a game of soccer, and I don't mean to brag, but my team won 5-3.

We watched some TV, just so we could cool down a little bit. We were watching the same things over and then my cousin Rory got a tennis ball, and threw me in the groin. It hurt so much. My sister Mariam said "LOL! You got trolled!" My mum heard my sister, and then she got a lecture about using 'text language'.

We then got kicked out the house. We stood there silently for a minute or two, thinking of what to do. Then Mariam broke the silence and suggested we play dodgeball while we're here. I started screaming and ran around crazily.

"What's wrong with you?" Mitch asked. "I do NOT want to play that again!! I got hit in the face with a ball that I think was going at 364 miles per second!!!!Do you understand NOW!!!???" I screamed. "Nope." Mitch said. "Not at all." I was trying as hard as I could to not strangle him.

All of this makes me wonder about the holidays, because all this stuff happened on the first day, and believe me, I do not need this happening to me again.

Prizegiving 2012

Last night was prizegiving, and I was late. We had to arrive at 6.45 pm, but when I looked at the time it was 6.59. “Mum! Dad!” I screamed with a frightened expression. We all scrambled out, into the car, and drove to th school. I freaked out, because I couldn't afford to be late.

Rushing into the hall, I found out that I made it just in time. I sat down in my class lines, and then Mr Burt came on the stage to talk. He talked about a lot of things, and the afterwards he handed out the awards. "Citizenship goes to..." Mr Burt said, "..Jordan Alofi!" Everyone cheered as Jordan walked up. "100% attendance goes to..." Iron Talia and Jordan Alofi!" Everyone cheered again, and Iron walked up the stairs. Mr Burt handed out the certificates, and said "You can walk down now."

"Now," Mr Burt carried on, "we do the year 5 acedemics. In Iron Talia!" Iron walked up again, got her certificate, and stood on the stage.

"In 2nd place," Mr Burt said enthusiastically, "Is Jordenne Eteuati!" Jordenne stood up, and walked up on the stage. "and last 1st place goes to...." the air crackled with tension. I leaned forwards. "...Iisa Salie!"Mr Burt said. I stood up and walked on the stage. It was my 4th time getting 1st place. I saw Mrs Tele'a. She handed me a huge bag of candy, like how the others did.

Then, as we sat down, Mr Burt said ''It's time for the year 5 item!" I gave Miss King my sack of candy, my trophy, and my certificate. We all got onto the stage in our positions, and when the music started, we danced our hearts out.
It was a really enjoyable experience, and I can't wait 'till next year, because they give out sports awards!

In class we learnt how to work out perimeter of a shape. Once we knew what to do, we did this thing on this site. It's a quiz kinda. It was about perimeters, like what we learnt. This, is my final answer, which actually was right.

These pictures that I drew are symmetrical  The top one is a flower (I ran out of ideas), and the other one is actually a cross, made out of three different colours. The flower was made on this site, and the cross was made using this site.

Now, I know a little more about reflective and rotational symmetry (only because I learnt basically everything about those 2 years ago!).

Toy Part 1

In class we had to make a futuristic toy in Hyperstudio and then animate it. We were meant to make 3 futuristic toys, but the rest of my class only did one. When I was on to my 2nd one, I got a little carried away with it. It took me over 7 weeks to make it, and 2 days to make the movie.
And something else; this is part ONE. This is when he gets the scooter and takes it for a test ride.  Part 2 comes next year, and part 3 comes when I'm a year 7.  Sit back and enjoy!

Thanks for watching part one.  I hope you enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed creating it.

The food of a lifetime

In the Extension group we had to take a photo of our self and make it look like we're chefs. At first I didn't know why, but then Mrs Tele'a said that it was for a cooking competition. Click here to see the site.

As you can see, I have a chef's hat on and in my left hand, is a 4-layer creamed cake  with chocolate sauce, cream, icing sugar and cherries on the top. In the layers, is cream, chocolate chips and icing sugar. In my right, is a L&P, chips with tomato sauce, a burger, and some stringy cheese.

Talking about food, I'm really hungry!

The NZ medals

In Extension we had to imagine that New Zealand was hosting the 2016 Olympic games and then draw it on a piece of paper. Afterwards we do our draft and when we were at Extension, we drew them on two different stacks on Hyperstudio. It was a little difficult, but in the end I got the pictures done.

It makes me wonder, will this will be the medal if New Zealand holds the Olympics?

As a student in Manaiakalani, I get a netbook from year 5 and every three years I will get a new one. Because of that, I get my own blog and share my work with the world. Not only do we use them to make blogposts, we also use them to make stories in our Google drive, make sites, draw pictures, take screenshots, you name it.

The chairman of Manaiakalani, Pat Sneddan, worked together with Mr and Mrs Burt, and the principals of the schools in our area to build Manaiakalani. They started out with $100, but then a very kind person gave them over a million dollars. That’s how we got our netbooks. The parents of children year 5 and up have paid 1.5 million dollars (1/3). Now Manaiakalani has 4.5 million, and if it wasn’t for my parents, I wouldn’t have my netbook.

Thanks, Mum and Dad, for letting me have my netbook. I really appreciate it.

Manaikalani Film Festival 2012: Presenting in 50 words

Me and my friend Paula knew we were up next to present our movie. It was nerve wracking. Climbing on the stage I knew that I had to make it perfect. Then we delivered our lines. Once we were done, I was relieved. I did my job without any problems.

Today My Life Begins

My friends and I made this movie for the Manaiakalani Film Festival. Our whole class had the chance to make a movie. We had to plan, prepare, film and edit all by ourselves. Our class had our own film festival to select the best two, to be shown at the Manaiakalani Film Festival. Here is my group's entry!

The Triathlon

This morning, on the field I saw some cones, flags, and bikes all inside the school racing course. I had simply no idea why they were there. No-one told us about it yesterday. There wasn't any notice about this.

In the middle of the day, Miss King told us why the bikes, cones, and flags were there. It was for the school Triathlon, which we were doing today after lunch. I kind of freaked out because number 1, we had no practice, and number 2, I've only done it before ONCE. Everyone else though, was excited because they've at least done it twice.

At the field, we got told where we'd be going for the three events. For swimming, we'd have to fake swim from one cone to another. Then we would have to run to a bike, put on a helmet click it on, then cycle. Afterwards we cycled around the whole course, we then had to put down our bikes, take off our helmet, and run on the racing course. And at the end, of course, was a finish line.

Since my class was so little, we were all going to do the race together. Miss King even asked if she could do it too. At the starting line, I got ready. "Go!" I heard someone yell. We were off. After zooming through the invisible water, I ran to my bike. Clicking on my helmet, I saw the other people get their bikes going. I knew I had to hurry.

Cycling around the course, I was overtaking nearly everyone. "Hurry, hurry, hurry!" I thought. Passing Mrs King (Who had just crashed with Muamua), I knew I could win. The next part was running, and there were only 2 people in front (Brandon and Joseph).

Speeding past Brandon and Joseph, I knew I had this on in the bag. I ran past Sosaia, who screamed. That nearly made me fall over. Still, I was in the lead. Racing towards the finish line, I thought, "Well done. You did your best and came 1st." Crossing the line I collapsed. I was tired. Once everyone made it back, we did the race a second time. "Noo!" I groaned.

That time, we got ready, and off we went. Racing with my arms going around frantically, I was the first one to get to the bike. But 8 people were already off. "Oh No!" I thought. I could lose this time. Getting around to the place to park the bikes, I was hoping to beat everyone in the running. It was my only chance.

Dumping my bike down, I zoomed down the track, and up to Joseph. I managed to overtake him, then a few other people. When I started racing Brandon, he slowed down and started walking. "Not bothering to race, eh?" I thought. Even though I beat Brandon there was one more person to beat. Mary.

When I came nearer to Mary, she started speeding up. Mary must have been tired, because she started slowing down. "Wheesh!" I yelled while zooming forwards. Now everything was turning easy. No difficulty. I felt really glad when I went past the line.

Me crossing the line.
Walking back to class, I was relieved. I achieved my goal twice, even though the cycling didn't go well. And now I'm actually looking forward to next year's Triathlon!

Charlie And The Chocolate Factory: Charlie Gets The Golden Ticket

Walking around town, Charlie saw a 50 pence coin glistening in the drain. Since he was starving, he shot his way to the nearest sweet shop to get something that could quench down his starving feeling.

At the counter, Charlie said kindly to the counter man, “May I please have your biggest chocolate bar?” “Here,” said the counter man. “Have a Wonka Scrumdiddlyumptious chocolate bar.” Wolfing down the chocolate, the counter man said “Woah! Slow down! You’re gonna get a tummy ache that way.” Once little Charlie was done, he said thanks and towards the door.

Then he stopped, thought for a second, a came back to the counter. “May I have another one,” Charlie said, “For my Grandpa Joe.” The counter man gave Charlie an original Wonka bar, and Charlie went.

When Charlie was outside, he saw a huge amount of people jostling to get a newspaper. Charlie took a look at the title, and it said “FIFTH TICKET FRAUD”. Charlie to one look at his bar, and hid behind a wall. There was a chance, but how could Charlie get the fifth and final gold ticket? He was doubtful about it. Cautiously, Charlie opened the sealing. Then, he saw a glint of gold.

He totally forgot about the chocolate and pulled out the ticket. A woman saw him, grabbed his arm and pulled him towards the people saying, “He found it! the last golden ticket!” Everyone started jostling to take a look at the ticket. Charlie kept his grip and ran. “Run Charlie!” yelled a man. “Run all the way home and don’t stop running!”

The stunt of a lifetime

"Wheeesh!" Greg yelled while he jumped over a stampede of bulls. "Just get over them, over the electric fence, and fall on the target in the lava pit!"

"Yes!" Greg screeched. He had made it over the bulls. GGGGZZZZTTTT!!! Greg hit the electric fence, and fell on the target. Since his shoes were in the lava, it ignited flames.

"Uhhh." Greg murmured. He was in the hospital. "You now have serious burns," said a nurse. "But you're lucky to be alive. Oh yeah, also your brother did the stunt and hadn't failed." Greg fainted. "What did I do!?" The nurse yelled.

The Lake Of Epicness

Diving into the water, the 4 brothers, Mitch, Greg, Notch, & Christian were swimming by the beach on a barren summer day.

“Ahh” Greg said. Going to the beach on this summer day was a pretty good. “Yup” Mitch replied. “Hey everyone!” Christian yelled. He was hiding a grin on his face. “I dare you all to swim to the middle of the lake!” “Only if you come with!” Notch yelled back. “Okay, fine.” Christian mumbled.

Swimming towards the center, Greg noticed something swirling in the water. “Oh no.” Greg murmured. “What is it?” Mitch asked worryingly. “I think it’s a whirlpool” Notch answered. “Run!!!
--I mean, SWIM FOR YOUR LIFE!!!!” Christian screamed. Swimming for their life, Christian and Notch made it to the shore. Greg and Mitch, on the other hand, not so lucky.

“Help!!!!” Greg and Mitch yelled. Getting sucked towards the whirlpool Greg was crying. “Wah!!!” Greg blubbered. “I’m gonna die!” “Hey, what about me!?” Mitch grumbled. “Oh yeah you too. ARE YA HAPPY NOW!!!????” Greg yelled. “Yes.” Mitch declared.
Notch looked around. He couldn’t see the others. Tears started to gather up in his eyes. “Oh don’t cry!” Christian said. “I know you’re 4 but--” “Wah!” “Oh COME ON!!!”

Falling down the whirlpool, Mitch had his last glimpse of the world. “Goodbye, world” He said. Then,  like a miracle, The whirlpool couldn’t take any more. It disappeared right before Greg & Mitch hit the bottom of the whirlpool. That was the last thing they both remembered before blacking out.

“Uhhh.” Mitch groaned. “Where am I?” “It works!” Christian yelled. “Wha?” Mitch questioned. “You washed up on shore so I gave you a--” “NOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Mitch screamed. “Hey, why is Greg lying down?” “It’s a sordid story.” Christian said. “You mean, he’s dead?” Mitch asked. Christian grinned “Nah, we haven’t done him yet. You do him” “Okay” Pressing Greg’s chest, Mitch finally got a sign that Greg was alive. A wet one.
“I can’t believe you did that!” Mitch yelled. “Heh heh.” Notch laughed. “You planned this!?” Mitch yelled angrily. “Nope.” Greg said. Mitch was so shocked that he fainted.

“Take him to the hospital.” Greg said.

The Fight that got nowhere

After a good night of Trick Or Treating, Greg and Holly walked home. “That was cool.” Greg said “Yeah,” Holly replied. “Oh yeah,” Greg carried on, hiding his mischievous grin. “I’ll take the candy! Trick Or Treat!” Holly immediately got huge eyes. She grabbed the bucket out of Greg’s hands before he could run away.

“Oh,” Greg yelled aggressively, “It is ON!! Op pa Ninja Style!” Greg tried to kick Holly but she grabbed his leg. “AAAA! AAAA! AAAA! AAAA! AAAA!” Greg yelled. His eyes were as wide as saucers. Then, out of the blue, their younger brother, Mitch, came and stopped the feud by snatching the bucket and ate all the treats.

“Nooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!” Greg and Holly yelled sadly. They got no treats on Halloween for the 2nd time in a row.

The flood of the century

Greg was 9. He lived in a small house with 2 brothers, Rodrick, who was 19, and Notch, who was 6. Their mother was Susan, and they all lived a happy but crazy life.

One time, it was looking like it would rain so Greg and Notch (who were playing dodgeball) went inside. Walking inside, Greg and Notch got a shock. "Raah." "Gahhhh!!!!!!!!!!" They yelled. "Heh Heh," Rodrick laughed. "Got you good, like usual." "That wasn't.. FUNNY!!" Notch yelled. "Boys," said Susan. "Look. The city is flooding." "What!?" Rodrick and Notch screamed. "Its the middle of summer!"

Greg ran outside. "What're you doing?" "Swimming!" Playing outside, Greg was jumping off ledges, doing bellyflops swimming, walking around and stuff. Wading around Greg saw the water was clearing up. "Noooo!" he yelled. Then, like a miracle, The dam broke. "Damn." Greg said. "Run! Notch yelled. The scene was havoc. People were running to their houses. 16 seconds later, the neighborhood was flooded. Greg was the only one left outside. "Help!" Greg yelled "Hel...! Blub blub blub blub."

Trying to hold his breath in, Greg hit a rock "Bloob!" Standing on the rock, Greg looked around. He was above the water. "Hey, you!" Greg looked around again. There was a search boat. "Get on!" Climbing up Greg took a deep breath. He was alive. Spending 2 days in the hospital, Gregs family finally arrived. "Are you alright?" Susan asked "Yeah," Greg replied "The good thing is, I'm alive." "I guess so," Greg replied. When Greg returned home, He got grounded. "What!?" Greg yelled. "It was because you were slow to come in when the dam broke." Susan replied. "Come on!" Greg yelled.

The First Day Of The Last Term Work

Today was the first day of Term 4. We did a series of events.

Our first task for today was saying popular toys and what you think you can do with them.
This is what we thought of them.

Tuesday, September 18, 2012

“Hmmmmm.......” I whispered. “Last day of basketball....” I knew this day would come. Walking to the courts I saw Rm 9 finishing their last lesson. Sitting down, I wondered.

“Get into 4 groups of people!” yelled our leader, Tai. We scrambled around the place, but eventually we got into four groups. In my group was Frank, Tyrone, Jordan, and Sosaia. Our 1st thing that we did was dribble the ball all the way to a 20m mark. “This is a race!” Tai yelled.  My came second by a millimeter.

Our second thing was tunnel ball. We had to pass the ball over our head, then under. Unfortunatly, my team came last this time. Afterwards we did a basketball game. Sosaia was the best shooter we had. Our team won all our games. “DRING!!!!!!!!!” went the bell. ”THANK YOU TAI!!!!!!!!!” we all yelled out.
Running back to class, I wondered.

Tommy Kapai Wilson

Looking up, I saw 4 men.
“Hmm...” I said thought.
“There is meant to be a man here today,  not 4.”
Then, one of the men stood up.
“Kia Ora* Pt England!” He said in loud voice.
“My name is Tommy Kapai Wilson.” All of a sudden a memory came to my mind. His name was on this notice saying that he was coming here today.
“Wow.” I wispered

He was telling us his life story.
“....I had 11 siblings...” He said.
“11 siblings!!!!????” I screamed in my mind.
Afterwards he gave us 5 lessons. Wars and violence are dumb, make 10 people smile per day, everyone is born with a gift, smile yourself, and learn how to forgive.

When he was talking about lesson #5 He said that after he did something wrong, Nelson Mandela** forgave him. My eyes were open really wide. Nelson Mandela comes from my home country.
“This guy is amazing.” I muttered

When I grow up, I want to be like him.

Room 13 today got a paragraph and we had to re-write the paragraph we got given. This is my version of the paragraph. (Underneath the line.)

As we were getting near some more puddles, I realized that the track was dangerous. Jogging carefully down the slippery stairs I nearly slipped but luckily I held onto the tree. I was happily saved by the tree.

Running my heart out, I was getting closer to the end. With the finish line in sight, I saw some girls just in front of me. Maybe I could catch them. At least I knew I wasn’t coming last.

Usain Bolt

“Take your marks said the umpire, the 200m sprinting final was about to start.Visulising the race, Usain Bolt (yes, it’s him) was ready for anything.

As the gun went off, Usain was blitzing everyone. Swiftly speeding down the track, the naturally gifted athlete was focusing on the finish. The worlds fastest was unbeaten for the 2nd time!

Celebrating his victory Usain did his winning pose. It seems like no-one ever beaten Usain in the last two Olympics. I wonder what his future is? Only time will tell.
(Read out below.)

Celebration time come on!

Celebrating enthusiastically, the talented athlete won a gold medal.
Enthusiastically celebrating, the talented athlete was happy with herself.
The talented athlete celebrated her win very enthusiastically.

Friday 10th of August, this man called Paul from Panasonic came to Pt England to give my class some prizes since we won the KWN (Kid’s Witness News) storyboard competition.
Room 13 had worked hard to make a storyboard for a competition which, Panasonic is holding. We didn’t win completely yet, we’re now having to use the supplies to make a movie against other schools to win a trip overseas. Panasonic is a really cool company.  If I had to choose the best company in the world, it would be Panasonic. I mean, there aren’t that many companies that would be so kind.

This is to Panasonic:

Cross Country training

This story explains Cross Country training for me (recording at the bottom).

Sitting down on the courts, I was waiting for everything to start. It was taking forever and I was eager & bored at the same time. Cross country training was about to start. “...and once you came back,” Mr Marks said, “You walk slowly ‘round the courts”

Then, all of a sudden Mr Marks said “Year 5 boys go!” And I was off. I was in the lead but then  everyone started catching up to me. Twisting around each corner underneath the trees I wondered if  I’d stay in the lead.

Running down to Mrs King, I swerved a little bit then went around this tall building, and carried on running to Mr Somerville. On  my way back, Lee started catching up to me. “C’mon,”I said to myself, “Run your heart out and beat Lee.” Before he could beat me, I dived for the finish line. Strangely enough, we came a tie.

Walking slowly around the courts, I was panting a lot. My legs felt like ead. Next time I hope to come first because it’s my Cross Country goal.

The Olympic torch

The Olympic flame was ignited by the sun in Olympia, Greece. And it must keep on burning until the closing of the Olympic games.

Nowadays, the tradition continues. 4 months before the Olympic games women in ancient white styled robes, light the torch from the sun by using a curved mirror. It is then passed runner to runner, until it reaches the host country.

While the flame stays alight it gets taken to the stadium. If it goes out there’s a spare fire to light the torch so the flame will keep on burning all the way until the Olympics conclude.

Olympic ideas (Please do not copy)

What I expect this term is that I get to learn about my favorite olympic sport, running. I hope that I also get the chance to find out more about some famous olympians, like Jesse Owens and Usain Bolt.

I've even got an idea of what we could do this term. We could try to make our own Olympic course, and try it. Even though it might not catch on, I still want to try it. I want to do after all of that, making a movie about the Olympics.

Our Ugly Classroom

Even though it's the last day of Term 2 2012, Miss King wanted the class to take down all the fabric on the class walls. It was only for the builders to change the classroom. This is what it was like for me.

“....And that’s what all of you should do. Got it?” asked Miss King. “Yes Miss King.” replied the rest of the class. I went up on the table and started taking out staples. Then, all of a sudden, Miss King shouted: “HEY!!! WHO RIPPED ALL OF THIS APART INTO PIECES!?!?!?!?!?!? Come on! Use your brains room 13!" I was glad that I was on the other side of the room when that happened.

After all that tragedy, I kept going on with with my job. A few minutes afterwards, the class was a dull brown kind of colour. At one point I saw something familiar. It was a rectangle with holes in them. They reminded me of when I was in room 3, we once had to lie down and look at the ceiling. It looked exactly the same.

After I told my friends, Miss King told us to write about today. ON THE LAST OF THE TERM MISS KING!!!??? ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND!!!???

The 6 thinking hats Part 2

Like last year, my class is doing The 6 Thinking Hats and this is what I wrote:

Art,  Maths whizz, movie making, playing games with my friends, writing, reading, are my favourite things to do at school. We learnt a lot, I just can’t deny it.

If I had to choose the downsides of this term I couldn’t choose anything.

I learnt about Wassily Kandinsky and how to make abstract art.

I think that this is the best term I ever had.

So far what I find the most interesting is the FA soccer world cup. Go Argentina!

I could eat less junk food, exercise more, (Especially since Cross Country’s coming up) and learn more. Hey, I should be on Maths Whizz! Bye!--

Art reflection

Hope you like our Art movie. We worked really hard and under pressure. So sit back, and relax. Please.
Art Iisa, Jordan, Frank, Tyrone from Team 4 Pes on Vimeo.

Art Gallery. It's new.

“Wow,” I said while staring at this place. It was the Art Gallery. I was glad that it only opened today because my class was the first to go in there.

I took a look at our class work. After seeing that I finally know why we had to paint these boxes black. I looked around for my group’s pieces of art. When I walked around to find the paintings, for some coincidence I saw my art first. “Pretty cool, Iisa, pretty cool.” I said in my head.

After that I saw something else that was eye-catching (but not as much as mine). And it just happened to be my friend Lee’s picture. It was a sunset kind of picture, and it even looked abstract! I could see the houses, the sea, the purple sun, and its light. It was really eye-catching.

Mrs King told us that  we can buy some art pieces that we like. I can’t wait till Wednesday because that’s when I’ll be able to buy some pieces of art.

So I really, really, really, really need $3 to get some masterpieces. Please Dad! I’ll be good!!!

PEPA had their performance yesterday. PEPA stands for Pt England Performing Arts. My favourite part was Hip Hop. What was really eye-catching about that was when Samson stood on his head and hands, and put his legs behind him. “OOOOOooooooOOOOO!!!!!!” Everyone yelled.

Getting out the bus, I knew we were here. Youthtown. I wondered what we’d make out of clay. First we got in this room, put down our bags, and then a Youthtown instructor led half of us into this room. We were making clay tiles.

First we had to cut out our tile. Afterwards my group had to crosshatch some bits of the tile. A crosshatch is a kind of X. We had to do it all around the square. Then we had to use the leftover clay, roll it until it was like a sausage, crosshatch it, then put some slip in between. “PHEW!!” I said. That took a while.

We then drew our design on the tile, put some coloured glass on, stamped my name on it, then gave it to the instructor to melt at 1000*C.
“Get your togs now” Miss King said. It was time for swimming.

“Thea’s in,Thea’s in, and she can’t even bother to get me!” I said
“TAG!” she yelled.
“Paula's in!”
“Time to get out!” Miss King said.

After we changed back into our school clothes, We went to the games room.
“Boys on Girls in mini soccer!” I yelled.“The Girls have one more point. What will happ---AA--AAARGH! That hurts a lot!”
Mua had pushed her defender right into my stomach.
“Boys win!” cheered Shalom.
My distraction had let the Boys win.

“Ooooooh, I think I’ll leave now” I moaned.
I decided to go and shoot basketball hoops with Leka and Tyrone. Bounce, bounce, bounce the ball went.
“Yay! I scored a point!” I yelled
“Uh, uh uh uh uh, uh uh uh uh, uh uh uh Oh.” Leka had scored one too.
“What!?” I yelled.
Because I want to win, I did a cheat. I went up the stairs to the top floor, dropped the basketball down the edge, and it went in the hoop.
“Woooooh!” I screamed.
Before I could celebrate my victory, Miss King said that we had to get our bags and go to the bus.

I can’t wait to go back.

Freezing week in Christchurch

Setting on the ground, Christchurch was blanketed in snow. Catching snowflakes on your tongue, collecting hundreds in a minute. Lightly tumbling down like a feather.

Skidding and sliding on the roads covered in ice, people were urged to exercise caution when in the car. In the severe storm, people started to freeze and then they lost power. The temperature plunged to -7*C.
