Letter To George Bollinger

This is a letter that I wrote during Literacy to send to a NZ soldier who fought in WW1 if he was still alive. George Bollinger was of German blood, but just wanted to help fight for New Zealand! People from New Zealand treated him differently from everyone else during the time when he was alive.

To George Bollinger,

I have heard about your story, and I want you to know that I hold sympathies for you. You were a very brave person who is putting his life on the line for his new home. The member of parliament was unnecessarily mean and wrong. You were not disloyal, you were most certainly loyal.

You have shown us bravery and made us all think twice before judging each other. It was such a shame that you had to go and fight, knowing that people just couldn't accept you. I hope that you know that no matter what, you are always a part of New Zealand.

Your’s Sincerely,

Iisa
