500 Blogposts - My Story

It has taken a very long time, but we are finally here. 500 blogposts! This is also my final post, as now that college has started, I won't have much time - if any - to keep doing this. My first blogpost written by me was published on Wednesday the 9th of February, 2011, at 9:25 a.m., about my holiday.

This post is my 497th blogpost, because of many events. In 2013 I accidentally deleted a blogpost from 2012, and to this day, it has never been re-uploaded. Also, I had 2 posts which I could never upload because I used the class account to write them back in 2011, and since I never posted them, they had to be deleted. But they still count as posts, which is why this is my also my 500th post.

When I first started getting into posting, Levi and his friends made a movie that was shown on a TV channel, and his blog gained 1,000 views in no time. The rest of us were on ~600 views, so we envied him. Later, back in 2013, I had more views than most of my year, so of course I would gloat. Anytime someone with a lower view rating talked about it, I would come up cheekily and shove my ~10,000 views in their face, except my friends.

But when I became an ambassador, we had to show our page views for a slide, and Josephine and Lesieli had ~23,000 views already. I soon stopped gloating about pageviews.

The pageviews took a turn in 2014. I started gaining huge views. This made me work more on blog posts than anything. I started publishing 6-10 page long stories on my blog, and I even started writing Back To The Present, a 54 page long story, but when combined with all of the other story connections, is 84 pages long. And I enjoyed every bit of it.

As I got older, I found it harder to do blogposts. I would always have to split up my spare time so that I could post compulsory posts and work in a paragraph or two on the next post. It was hard for me, and I could tell it was the same for the others.

In 2015 I decided that in order to keep going, I would have to change my schedule. My parents made me do many after-school activities, so I had to organize my times so that everything would work. How did I do this? Math.

Now that my schedule was in order, some magical, mythical person decided that I needed more problems. Things to write about. Back in my 400th blogpost, I showed a mini-graph that had what most of my blogposts were about, and they were just for fun posts. Ones that I do not because of schoolwork, but because I did something that I wanted to share on my blog.

This ultimately led me to start Back To The Present again, adding 5 more parts onto it, even though it was supposed to have ended. Stories like The Rhyme were meant to be individual stories, but because of time, I would have to connect them to other stories. This schedule tired me out. In Term 3 of 2015 I started writing less and less stories, because I just needed breaks.

The year had now ended, and my time at PES was now over. I wrote a blogpost about my life at PES, intending that to be my final post. But my account was not removed, so I decided, “Hey! I’m only a few posts away from 500. Let’s keep going!” and kept going. At the start of 2015 I decided to finish my blog on 500 posts. That means that this is my final post.

I guess that because this is my final post, I have to give some inspirational words or what-not for the younger bloggers from Pt England. Just keep going  and going at it. The more posts you do in more varieties, the more chances that more people will come across your blog sooner. Remember, the more you do it, the better your results will be.

I have really enjoyed doing this, I hope that you have enjoyed reading these posts and watching the movies I’ve uploaded. It’s been a pleasure doing this. Bye.

Summer Learning Journey W3:D14

Week 3? Day 14? You may be wondering. My previous post was still in Week 2 of the Summer Learning Journey. Today is the final day to enter posts in the Summer Learning Journey, so I thought, "Let's do the final one instead!" Here we go!

It's the final day in Australia. Before I return to New Zealand, I am going to visit 5 landmarks. Here are the places:
1. Bondi Beach
It's a great place to spend the day. You can surf, swim, and walk there.
2. Great Barrier Reef
A fantastic place to see over 2,300km of coral and marine life
3. Sydney Opera House
It's Australia's iconic performing arts centre. How could I not go?
4. Melbourne City Centre
It's full of things to do! You can admire the wonderful night-life, art, opera, and so much more!
5. Uluru
Another famous landmark. You cannot leave without seeing it first.

I have now landed back in New Zealand. Here are some landmarks that I have visited.

1. Rainbows End
New Zealand's most known amusement park.
2. Sky tower
The tallest building in NZ.
3. Beehive
NZ's government house. I went there with the other ambassadors in 2013.
4. Waiwera
One of New Zealand's biggest water parks.
5. Splash Planet
Another park, but with more wet and dry rides.

Summer Learning Journey W2:D7

During this holiday I have been doing 2 things: Blogging and playing Minecraft simultaneously. I have been going outside, but I prefer the comfort inside my house being a chair potato.

Lately I have been going on trips with my family, but on one trip I got so sick; everything was turning purple, and I collapsed. But now I am all better, playing and working at the same time!

Summer Activities
I asked my sister what she likes to do over the Summer holidays. Here are her top 5 things.
1: Watch Anime. My sister is a huge fan of anime and manga, so she and I have spent around the same amount of time on the computer.
2: Eat. My sister and I have nearly the same values, and we both love our food.
3: Sleep. A heavy sleeper is also what my sister is. She sleeps until 11 a.m, and I sleep until 8:30 a.m, even though we both sleep around 11 p.m.
4: Chat with friends online. At the moment, my sister has a bigger social life than I do, but I find it hard to chat with people that are travelling.
5: Play with pets. We have 2 cats, who often seek attention from us, and we take the time and effort to play with them, feed them, and let them out.

Those are my sisters 5 favourite things to do in the holidays!

My personal favourite breakfast in Australia is steak and eggs. Now you may be thinking: "That's lunch! Or dinner!" But I indeed have had that for breakfast before. Pancakes are great too. They aren't that different from what I have in New Zealand.
I would love to eat those deluxe items everyday for breakfast, but there is something about too much which makes my parents stop me from eating those everyday.

Summer Learning Journey W2:D5

Get out the plane, it's the end of my flight,
Looking for a new place to stay tonight
I have been in Australia before,
But this time I will be doing more.

Booked a nice place to stay, at a hotel
Product placement not included, as you can tell.
First night over and I wake up
Breakfast is pancakes with maple syrup
Get the chores done and I'm on my way
I'm gonna have a great day today.

Walking to a park with many rides
Speaking in English, I order pies
The rides are great! I'm having fun!
But I'm sweating hard, underneath the sun.

The day soon ends, I loved the place
I left with a happy smile on my face
Tomorrow we go to the beach
And that's how I'll spend the rest of my week!

My predicament

I haven't left the house that much, if at all during my holidays. The cameras we have are full of photos from 2013-2015, and they are all so meaningful that there isn't any space on the camera for updated photos, and the camera on my netbook has broken, so I really can't update this blog with photos. And I don't a phone either. To show how enraged I am, here is a photo of me being angry in 2015.
There aren't actually many photos of me being angry that aren't blurred. Well anyway, what it means is that for my holiday, only old and drawn pictures are going to be on my blog.

The Thomas The Tank Engine Story

As stated in some of my previous posts, my Thomas The Tank Engine Animation was intended to be my final animation, but the time I had to work on it was very slim. I made it to around halfway before time ran out. I have also said in my Collection Of Animations post that anyone willing to complete the animation can do so.

Thomas is a Tank Engine. He has 6 small wheels, a short stumpy funnel, a short stumpy boiler and a short stumpy dome. He used to always bring in and take away coaches for the big engines, until he was allowed to take a train full of freight.

But Thomas nearly had an accident, and to learn more about trucks, he had to shunt them in the yard. In the yard were two strange things his driver called cranes. It was called the Breakdown Train, which is used to lift heavy things, like engines and cranes. One day, a new engine came rushing through the yard, much too fast. The engine's name was James, and he had a 5 on his tender. "They're pushing me!" James shouted. Soon James was out of sight.

"The Breakdown Train! Quickly! A workman shouted. Thomas was coupled up, and off they went. They soon reached James' crash site. James was off the rails. Thomas took the unhurt trucks away. Once that was done, the Breakdown Train lifted James back on the rails. He tried to move, but he couldn't. So Thomas helped him home.

The owner of the railway, Sir Topham Hatt was waiting for them. "Well Thomas," he said, "I heard about everything. James shall have a red coat of paint, and you can have a branchline all to yourself."

Now Thomas is as happy as can be. He puffs down the line with his two faithful coaches, Annie and Clarabel. He is never lonely, too. Edward and Henry stop often to tell him the news. Gordon is always in a hurry, but he never forgets to whistle to Thomas. And Thomas always whistles in return.

And that is it! I hope someone will be able to complete this animation.

The Me I Used To Be - Writing Vs Writing

My first blogpost was about my Christmas holiday. I had this habit of slightly changing the actual story for comic reasons, even though it only appealed to me. Without furthur ado, lets get in!

Monday 14th of December was a bad start. When I was on the toilet , I got in trouble from my dad for overheating on THE TOILET! And at 12:00 am I was embarrased when I was peeing in the garden and A WHOLE BUNCH OF GIRLS SAW ME!! Then my sister used me as a horse just cause I said “You failed!”

When my cousins left to the U.K, my sister said “you failed!” I said “why?” Then my sister said “cause you cried like a baby”

Then I wasn’t allowed on the computer for seven weeks! Soon I went insane ! And then my sister said “YOU FAILED!! HA HA!!”

We can all see that a year 3 wrote that. 2016, a re-write please!

On Monday the 14th Of December, my holiday had begun. I was really happy, but I ended up feeling sick when I woke up. After being yelled at for hogging the toilet, I enjoyed the rest of my holiday with my cousins.

Until, it was New Years Eve. I had this way of saying 'You Failed!', which made only me laugh. I said it to my sister several times, and she soon got annoyed. Near 2011, I had to use the toilet, but all the cubicles were full, so I went into a corner and did my business. My sister, determined to get back at me, told me that a group of girls saw me.

On the 5th of January, my cousins went back to the U.K. I was sad to see them go, and so was my sister. My sister didn't say anything to me on the way back. Soon we reached home, and I went on it to play games. One day my mom said not to go on the computer too much, and that I should go outside. And that's how I spent the rest of my holiday!

A Collection Of Animations

My ANZAC animation from Term 2 last year had links to all of my animations underneath the animation, contemplating on what to blog about next, I decided to put all my animations together (excluding 'The Yanomami And Other Animations') with a small description.

2012  My first animation. This is what got my animation gears going, and I am thankful for that. Short it may be, but this is the starting point of my animations.

2013  My first animation on a real thing, an Orca. I made it really gory on purpose, so that little kids grew up knowing not to mess with the Orcas.

This animation was made by an absent-minded year 6(me), and I never bothered to actually check how the milk was made, and the animation was done on how I think it was made.

2014  Mrs Lagitupu was gathering animations for our class movie for PENN, and my animation was almost finished. When the class went out for P.E, I worked on the voiceover, making it my first voiceover with no-one else's voice in it.

This animation, I bothered to check how sound travels from the ear to the brain. It was a great success, and I am proud of it.

In extension we had to create a product out of two items that we mixed together, for the upcoming 40 hr famine. I was the only one who finished the animation on that day.
This is my 2nd personal favourite. This animation was created during my free time, not part of any tasks. Unfortunately there was no sequel, but I kept what was done of Part 2 and put it in the Yanomami and other animations. Seeing that there may never be another animation of this, the story goes:
Steve searches what gaming history does, and it turns out that everything he breaks opens a portal into another game, going backwards, until he runs out of games and deteriorates. Steve then goes on a journey through games to save himself from the cheat known as 'Gaming History'.

2015  This animation started out by me drawing some pictures, full colour and black and white, and then I merged them together. I didn't know what to do for a voiceover, and Mrs Tele'a suggested reading 'In Flanders Fields' by John McCrae, and it was a success.

My favourite animation. We had to create a fictional animal and animate about it,(origins, food, habitat, etc.) This was so much fun creating, and adding the O-faces made me laugh. When I was animating the last bit, I was worried about being sued by McDonalds for making their company look bad, so I changed it to McDernalds, with a mascot named Douglas McDernald.

As stated in my 'Thomas' blogpost, this animation was part of a bigger project, which remains unfinished. This is really all that is left of it, as all of the computers should be re-imaged by now. It's a sad story for me, but the silver lining is that this part was on the final episode of PENN 2015, so people got to see it. Any year 8's willing to finish the animation (hint, hint, Jordan S!), feel free to do so.

This has been a collection of my animations from 2012-2015. I hope you enjoyed it.
